Monitoring your Neposmart camera doesn’t require Internet access.

On The Go Monitoring is the ability to connect to your camera from anywhere, even if your camera is not connected to the internet. Security cameras often rely on Wi-Fi to connect in order to provide live feed. However, there are a few situations in which your Internet Service Provider won’t install Internet for you.

One situation is if you’re running a construction company. The site contains half finished buildings, and has many workers coming and going. Because it’s a construction zone, it won’t have internet installed at this point. By installing a security camera, whether its to monitor 24/7 or just when the crew leaves for the day, you can keep an eye on the site and the workers.

A second situation is if you’re remodeling your home or adding a building to your property. Depending on the size of the remodel, either your home or your property is exposed. Using a camera to monitor the kitchen, living room, or open entry way or yard will give you peace of mind during an already stressful construction experience.

A third situation is if you own a remote property. Whether it’s a cabin in the woods or on the beach, it’s reassuring to know what’s going on during the months that you’re not there. Easily check the camera from your app as often as you’d like until you’re able to return to your favorite vacation spot.

A fourth situation is a hotel room. For anyone who is traveling with valuables such as for a jewelry conference, or even just with laptops, cell phones, and passports. Set it up in your room when you arrive, and keep an eye on your items when you’re traveling nearby or out to dinner at a restaurant.

A fifth situation is on a boat. When you’ve finished your summer vacation and are headed  back to the city a couple hours away but you want to keep an eye on your vessel, consider installing a security camera. It will allow you to keep watch during storms, when other boats come near, or for the occasional passerby or animal. Simply check the live feed every few weeks to make sure all is well.

Now that we’ve listed some common scenarios where on might want a security camera but may think it’s not possible, here are two alternative methods to gaining internet to run your security camera aside from using your Internet Service Provider.

First, you can use the personal hotspot on your phone. For some, it’s under Settings, within the first group of options at the top of your screen. For others, it’s under Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.

Second, you can purchase a T-Mobile, Verizon Jetpack, or AT&T MiFi for a data plan. Simply connect to your camera or cameras, and then make sure they stay within range or signal of your device.

Either way, these methods will allow you to always be monitoring your property, no matter what your service or signal may be.
